Interested In A Puppy From Red Fever Ranch?
If you are interested in a puppy, please contact by email or phone to be put on the waiting list. Please include what
breed you are looking for, what sex you prefer, what color you prefer (if applicable to the breed), and what you are looking
to do with the dog (hunt, show, pet, etc.). We write people down in the order that we receive the calls/emails. If you would
like to put a deposit down before the puppies are born, that will guarantee you a puppy from the next available litter. If
you prefer to wait to put down a deposit, when puppies are available, we will contact you and see if you are still interested
in booking a puppy . If you are interested, see instructions below. If you are not interested, we will cross you off our
list, or you will drop back down to the bottom of the list, whichever you prefer. If it has been a month or two since you
contacted us, it never hurts to call or email again and let us know that you are still interested in a pup, in fact, we welcome
it, as it lets us know you are serious about a pup.
Price varies based on breed, sex, color, registration, etc. If you do not see a price listed, contact us for more info.

to your email address. Please note, there will be an added 3% charge to cover Paypal fees.
With your deposit, please include: your Name, Address, Phone Number, and E-Mail if applicable. Which litter and what
sex you are booking. What the intended purpose of the puppy will be (hunt, show, companion- etc), and whether you will pick
up your puppy or will need to have it shipped or transported
Your deposit is non-refundable. I will refund it if we can not provide you with a healthy pup, of your chosen sex, within
a reasonable time frame (approx. 6 months from when we receive your deposit, but talk with us first if this is a concern).
Your deposit will not be refunded for any other reason (you change your mind, find something else, etc.)
HEALTH INFORMATION
We give our own shots & dewormings at Red Fever Ranch, as per the recommendations given to us by our vet. An 8 wk
old puppy will receive their first puppy shot (we use Duramune Max 5 CVK) before going to his new home. The puppy will need
two boosters, one approx. at 11 weeks, and another at around 15 to 16 weeks. He/she will have been dewormed every two weeks beginning
at 2 wks old with Pyarantel, dewormed at 6 weeks with Panacur, and dogs over 6 months will have a rabies shot. They are put
on monthly heartworm preventative (we use Ivermectin) around the age of 8 weeks and it is administered at the 1st of the month.
Flea and Tick preventative at the 1st of every month.
We generally feed an all meat based dog food. No corn, wheat or soy. Some brands we use and recommend are American Naturals
Premium, Taste of the Wild, Diamond Naturals, Fromm, Nutro, Victor, and Canidae.
HEALTH GUARANTEE:
Contract Health Guarantee:
BREEDER guarantees that PUPPY is in good health, as far as appears to the eye, has received appropriate medical inoculations,
worming, and care. BREEDER will provide BUYER with a written statement detailing treatment that PUPPY has received under BREEDER'S
care, and any future care BREEDER feels is essential to PUPPY'S wellbeing. The BREEDER does not assume any liability for any
injury to said PUPPY during transport or delivery.
BREEDER guarantees PUPPY is free of life threatening diseases or disabilities for 72 hours after delivery to BUYER. Should
life threatening diseases or disabilities be discovered by BUYER within 72 hours after receipt of PUPPY, and attested to in
writing to BREEDER by BUYER'S licensed veterinarian within 72 hours, BUYER will return PUPPY to BREEDER or have a vet certify
said PUPPY has been euthanized, and BREEDER will provide BUYER with a replacement puppy as soon as such puppy is available
to BREEDER. BUYER must pay for any shipping or miscellaneous charges associated with transport of the replacement puppy.
NOTE: All puppies shipped have the chance of being exposed to other dogs while in transport; this is out of breeder's
control.
BUYER must have PUPPY examined by a licensed veterinarian of BUYER'S choice within 72 hours of receipt of PUPPY or this
contract will be null and void.
Two-Year Guarantee:
Should PUPPY upon delivery and up to 30 days after PUPPY is TWO (2) years of age be diagnosed with life inhibiting genetic
defects confirmed by two unassociated veterinarians, the BUYER and BREEDER agree upon provision of veterinary reports and,
where applicable, *OFA, *BVA, *Elbow Dysplasia, or *PRA results provide BUYER with one of the following options.
NOTE: ALL veterinarian costs and testing procedural expenses are BUYER'S responsibility.
a) Should BUYER choose to keep PUPPY, BREEDER will refund 50% (____________) of the price that was originally paid for
PUPPY with the submission to the BREEDER of the supporting veterinary reports required above. 50% refund does not apply to
any testing, veterinary bills, shipping or travel costs, which the BUYER might incur. BUYER understands that in choosing this
option that any and all further guarantees of PUPPY'S two (2) year and health guarantee are null and void.
b) Should BUYER choose to relinquish ownership of PUPPY to BREEDER, BREEDER will provide a replacement puppy to the BUYER
as soon as such a puppy is available to the BREEDER. BUYER must pay for any shipping or miscellaneous charges associated with
transport of the replacement puppy. BREEDER will re-home PUPPY to the family that is prepared to deal with said PUPPY'S inhibiting
defects. If it is determined that PUPPY cannot function in society due to temperament or genetically derived medical disorders
then PUPPY will be euthanized at the BREEDER'S expense.
BREEDER shall not be held responsible for the development of faults, diseases, or disorders, which are due to BUYERS negligence
and environmental factors.
Two-Year Guarantee is Null and Void if said PUPPY has been bred.
CHOOSING A PUPPY:
Booking a puppy early is always a good idea. It helps to determine who will get a puppy from a litter should there not
be enough puppies to go around. Please understand, though, that this does NOT ensure you "pick of the litter".
This only means that you will get a puppy from this litter (in the sex of your choice).
Red Fever Ranch ALWAYS reserves the right to retain any puppy/puppies from any litter. Sometimes, an outside stud is
used and, if agreed upon, the stud owner will take their pick first. Occasionally, if we raise a litter for a the dam's owner,
the dam's owner will have to take their pick before the rest of the pups can be placed. From there, priority is given in
this order:
For Beagles, Aussies, and Mini Schnauzers:
*Puppies will be picked in the order that they are booked. We do handle these pups daily, and will make suggestions based
on what you're looking for to try and get you the pup that would best suit your needs based on their hunting intstincts (when
applicable) and personality.
For Redbones:
1) Competition Hunters
2) All other Competition Homes
3) Pleasure Hunters
4) Pet/ Companion Homes
Please note, that with the Redbones we generally pick your pup for you. You tell us what you are looking for when you
email or talk to us, and we take that into consideration when picking your pup. If you have a preference on a certain pup,
you are welcome to tell us; however, you will not necessarily get that pup. We do not generally allow people to pick their
own pups because many times, everyone wants the "biggest, darkest, boldest" pup, which is fine, except, the "biggest,
darkest" pup may not be the boldest, have the best mouth, or have the best conformation for a person who plans to show.
They also may not have the best temperament suitable for a pet home. We feel that since we are evaluating them every day,
that we have a better judgement of which home they should go to to be the most successful. As stated before, we will take
your preferences on color, disposition, size, ect. into consideration when we pick your pup for you.
WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND?
All deposits are nonrefundable. If you do not pick up your puppy by the pick up date, you will forfeit your deposit and
it will not be carried over to a future litter.

WHAT IS A "COMPETITION" HOME?
This is a home that actively takes their coonhounds to events sponsored by the United Kennel Club (UKC) as well as some
of the other Kennel Clubs such as PKC, AKC, NKC and ACHA. These homes compete with their hounds in hunting events, show events,
water race events or field trials. To be considered a "campaigning" home- you must either currently be actively
participating in COONHOUND related events as listed above or must be willing to with your new puppy.
Generally a "COMPETITION" home refers to the difference between a coonhunter that "pleasure hunts"
vs one that actually competes with his hounds.
PET / COMPANION REDBONE?
Remember first that a redbone is a scent hound. That means that they are directed by their NOSE- if they smell it- they
will explore it. Also, remember that they are bred to run & tree coon (raccoon) at night in the timber. This means that
by nature- they are excellent climbers and can fence without a moments notice. Also- being a coonhound- they are bored easily.
If you do not have SOME sort of job for them to do-- they will FIND one!! Not necessarily one of your choosing. Although
there are occasionally puppies in a litter that should go to a pet home- as a general rule- the ONLY reason that a litter
should be bred is for the purpose it is intended- for hunt and show. A dedicated breeder will never make "companion"
crosses but will rather work hard to preserve and improve on an already successful foundation. With that in mind, we never
breed for companion redbones. We breed for WORKING redbones: HUNT, SHOW, WATER & FIELD TRIALING redbones. In most litters,
we may have a puppy or two that we feel would be better suited for a pet home. There could be a number of reasons that we
have decided this ranging from conformation issues, to temperament (meaning more lazy), it could be color (too much white), or
any number or reasons that we feel that puppy is best suited for a pet home. These puppies are in NO WAY inferior to their
littermates- they are simply better suited as companions.
BREEDING RIGHTS?
Beagles, Mini Schnauzers, and Aussies will be sold with limited registration unless you have spoke with us about it, and
we have agreed to give you Full Registration.
No Redbone sold/adopted into a pet home should be used for breeding without our permission and must hold a minimum of
show Champion title in order to be used for breeding. Redbones are not a good choice for the "hobby" breeder-
they are a working breed and great care should be taken to learn every aspect of the breed before "dabbling" into
breeding these awesome scent hounds. I can tell you many stories of folks that got a redbone as a companion and decided to
breed it and found that they quickly had 4-5mth old and older puppies that they could not sell to save their life. Many had
to be given away. Coonhunters DO NOT buy puppies from pet homes. It just doesn't happen. Companion redbones should be few
& far between so the market is not there.
Occasionally, we will also place young adults or retired brood females into pet homes. These dogs will only be offered
to a pet home if they have proven themselves to have a temperment conducive to becoming a happy pet, and spay/neuter will be
part of the agreement.

**SHIPPING INFO**
The following charges will be assessed when Red Fever Ranch must ship your new puppy/dog or meets you on the road.
AIRLINE SHIPPING:
The following charges will apply for all airline shipping.
*Airline required health certificate ($35 plus $20 if rabies is needed)
*Shipping crate ($55-80),
*Sellers fee ($75)
*The airline charges (Varies)
*As well as the cost of the puppy
** RED FEVER RANCH STRONGLY PREFERS GROUND TRANSPORT but will ship by air if necessary. Above all means, we prefer direct
pickup so that we can meet you in person and you can visit our dogs.
However, if we approve airline shipping, we will generally handle the shipping arrangements for you as a courtesy but
you will be responsible for all fees, changes, etc that result through airline shipping and all fees must be paid ONE WEEK
PRIOR to shipping (or at 7 wks old for puppies).
Please note that whenever available, we will prefer shipping DIRECT FLIGHT. We expect that you will be willing and understand
that the "closest" airport to you may not be in the best interest of the dog and you may have to travel up to a
couple of hours so that we can ship DIRECT FLIGHT. Those unwilling to do this should seek ground transport.
We prefer to ship Delta Pet First. We will NOT ship via American Airlines.
The costs have went up due to rising fuel costs. Please call the airline before booking to make sure you understand the
possible charges. In late 2016, the airline's charges for shipping an 8 wk old puppy were between $350-450 depending on size
of puppy, crate, and location.
Some airlines may allow buyer to pay the airline portion of shipping expenses at pick up/ by credit card if you prefer.
Pups must be picked up promptly at arrival time.
Also remember that there ARE weather restrictions in place by the airlines and specifically some of the airports. Temperatures
below 20 degrees or above 85 are not allowed by Delta.
GROUND TRANSPORT:
If time permits, we will generally meet you within a couple hours from the house to help keep your travel time down.
The following will be our charge for this service & are valid for all trips where we are transporting only & are not
headed to an event:
Up to 100 Miles transport (Round Trip): $50.00
101-150 Miles transport (Round Trip): $75.00
151-200 Miles transport (Round Trip): $100.00
201-250 Miles transport (Round Trip): $125.00
For transports while we are already on the road headed to a dog event & where our route & time table will not
be compromised:
$50 for any puppy/dog bought from Red Fever
$100 all outside transports
Please Note: Red Fever Ranch assumes NO liability of a puppy once it leaves our home. Any illness or contagious disease
the puppy may be exposed to while in transport (by us or by you) or while attending a major event (if we deliver the puppy/dog
to you at an event) is the sole responsibility of the new owner.
NOTE: There are MANY ground transporters out there now. We have several that we work with that charge $250 for puppies
and $350 for adult dogs. Please note that most ground transporters require a health certificate ($30 plus $20 if rabies are
required). If you are interested in a transporter, you should contact Red Fever Redbones for our recommendations on ground
transporters, and to verify that their pickup schedule is acceptable. Occassionally, other coonhound folks will be traveling
to bigger events and may also be willing to help with transport.
PICKING UP:
Please understand that deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. Should you not pick up your puppy/dog by the pickup date, you forfeit
your deposit and it will not be applied to a new litter.
Puppies are generally ready for pickup close to 8 wks old. Any puppy not picked up by 9 wks old (without prior agreement)
will be forfeited.
Adult dogs must be picked up within 2 WKS of sale and are not considered SOLD until payment is received.
For your convenience, we offer Paypal (you must add 3% to your payment to cover Paypals charges), Wal-Mart's MoneyGram,
cash or money order. We accept checks for deposits but never accept checks for final payment.
Please note that any "NO SHOW" will be treated as a failed pickup and you will lose your deposit.
When you come to pick up your puppy, we encourage you to plan to stay a little while and visit. We enjoy talking dogs
and are eager to hear your plans for your new dog/puppy.

Why Reputable Breeders Charge More For Their Puppies
I think it's safe to say that most of us are not rich, and we all appreciate a good deal. Why not? Blowing money unnecessarily
is just a waste, and most of us enjoy finding a bargain even if we can afford to spend more. When shopping for cars, electronics
or furniture; frugal living is the way of the wise these days. So, why the big deal about shopping around when looking for
a puppy? The price that you pay for a healthy well-bred puppy is minimal compared to the cost of raising, owning and the veterinarian
costs for the life of a dog that's ill-bred and sickly.
Ever heard the saying, "You get what you pay for"? Yeah, well, the pet dog industry is one place you won't find
a better example of the prudence of that advice. Quality in the breeding world can range anywhere from absolute crap to jaw-dropping
fantastic and everywhere in between. And although it may not always be this way, in most cases you're going to get exactly
what you pay for.
What expenses are involved in responsibly breeding?
Quality has never been cheap and buying a quality puppy definitely is not! You are going to have to expect to pay more
than just a few hundred dollars to buy from a responsible breeder. It is important to remember though that just because you
are paying a large price for a puppy it does not mean it is quality (testimonies from happy families is very important). There
are several factors that go into the price of buying a puppy from a good breeder and make sure the breeder is doing all of
these things or more.
The ever increasing price of top notch veterinary care is one of the main reasons. Breeders like us pay state and local
taxes even though we are classified as a Hobby Breeder. We occasionally breed to quality outside males, or invest in quality
puppies to bring into our program (and we pay extra for full-registration and can travel up to 10 hours one-way), high quality
diets, pregnancy x-rays if needed, supplements, emergency veterinary care, c-sections, assisted whelpings when complications
arise, vaccinations for adults and the puppies, health testing, veterinary exams/health checks for each puppy, micro chip
& enrollment, food, heartworm, flea meds, worm meds, puppy food, dog food, toys for adults, cleaning supplies, bedding,
dishes, crates, grooming supplies, puppy toys, AKC registration of adults and puppies and more! If you can imagine this is
just the short list of our costs but it gives you the idea! Our time... do not forget the time invested in working with families,
caring for puppies and adults, cleaning, etc.
Well bred dogs are expensive to breed. Even poorly bred dogs are not cheap to breed. The dam may need a c-section for
the birth that can cost $1,000 or more. Plus there is care for the dam during pregnancy and after birth. The average litter
can cost $2,500+ or so to breed by the time all is said and done. If there is only 1 or 2 pups in the litter even at $1,200
the breeder is often taking a big loss. Any purebred dog is going to be expensive if the breeder is investing in their program.
When you purchase a dog through a reputable breeder, you have to remember that the breeder has already spent a good amount
of money on veterinary care for the mother and the pups and that is reflected in the price of the puppy. Stud fees, prenatal
care, initial vet visits, shots, wormings, food, and all the other things that the breeder takes care of long before you
ever get to bring your puppy home--these things cost a lot of money. Add to that that a responsible breeder rarely breeds
a female more than once a year. Now divide all those expenses by the number of puppies and even at $1,200 most Responsible
breeders are lucky if they break even. It has been said that exceptional quality is not expensive, It's PRICELESS!
So What is a Breeder's time worth?
It is estimated that the average breeder spends 180 hours or more per month caring for their dogs and pups. This 180 hours
cannot be scheduled around other obligations; other obligations must be scheduled around your puppies and adults. Have you
considered what a breeder needs to do to go away for the weekend, a vacation, or even the day in some cases--we have to have
reliable person stay at our home. So, having a litter of puppies for any breeder pretty much takes a considerable chunk of
time and independence from your life. A good breeder will carefully screen and interview all potential buyers to ensure that
their puppies get placed in only the best homes. They will also offer support to the puppy's new family to make sure that
they are properly prepared to care for the puppy and they will stay available to help out any family in need, even if it means
accepting the puppy back into their home if problems arise. Look at your well bred puppy as an investment in your emotional
health, you couldn't get any mental health professional to treat you daily for the next 12 to 15 years for $1800.
Our hope is that people who are willing to pay for one of our puppies will provide a very good home. That they have thought
long and hard, researched and read about their breed of choice and other dogs before deciding on one and the puppy they purchase
will be worth every single penny. Not just anyone can walk up, pick up a puppy and take it home.
Good puppies start long before their parents are bred. Both the sire and dam need constant care and conditioning to produce
the best offspring. This means regular veterinary care, screening for genetic problems, regular exercise, family environment and
good nutrition.
It also means maintaining your dog's mental health. Stressed animals can experience fertility problems. Many breeders
swear by the belief that the dam's temperament affects the puppies - good puppies come from good mothers. Consequently, they
avoid breeding shy or unstable dogs.
We personally feel NO BREEDER SHOULD EVER have to explain or justify their prices. Quality dogs are expensive to buy,
expensive to maintain, and expensive to breed. Much goes into breeding of dogs and the price a breeder is asking for their
puppies is up to their discretion. Whether it's $500 or $2500 every breeder knows what they've invested into their dogs, how
much they've paid, and the quality they are producing, registration, and their actual litter expenses. When looking at purchasing
a puppy you can't just consider the cost of the puppy but a breeders overall expenses to just obtain that litter.

puts their WHOLE HEART into and risking it being hurt....but at the same time...could not see their life without it all, the
good, the bad, and the beautiful... IT IS WORTH EVERY MINUTE OF IT! A Breeder will be challenged... A TRUE BREEDER will overcome...
