Why Do We Have Aussies......?





Though we have had herding dogs all of our lives, Bear was our first purebred Australian Shepherd, and we were totally hooked. The Aussie is a wonderful companion, stock dog, family dog, and watch dog.  They are also incredibly smart, sensible, easy to train, and agile.  We find the saying to be true, "If you can't find your Aussie, just look behind you." We used to have cattle and 80+ meat goats on our farm, but have since moved and cut down on livestock. We still like having an Aussie around as a family companion, trail riding companion, and farm dog. We have been breeding Aussies's since 2006, and have tried or encountered dogs from several different lines, and in doing so, we have found the lines that we feel have the best temperament, health, longevity, and trainability. Bear passed over four years ago at 15 years old, but was in excellent condition to the end, as was all of our foundation females...they have all since passed from old age. We have never had any genetic health problems reported in any of our pups produced.
